What should I think about when I change my DNS settings?

When you change the DNS, you should consider the following:

DNS zone changes must be made for the domain name servers pointing.
DNS zone changes are not immediate; they require time for propagation. Most need 0-4 hours, but the name server records requires about 24-48 hours. For more information, see our Propagation Times article.

It is important to check the NS records and ensure that they correspond exactly to the name servers used by domain registrar (also known as "fixing glue"). If they do not match exactly, your site may experience intermittent downtime.
